The Praxium Academy

School Sessions

Get involved and join in the fun.

A practical approach to Meditation and Sword-Play in order for self-control and responsibility – Core work and spatial awareness. This will help kids to be able to communicate with confidence and self-trust. By using the Lite Sword™ Created by The Praxium Academy the student will endeavour to better themselves and their classmates with practice and practical Sword-Play. They will be trained in stage combat so as to encourage safe and responsible gaming (Waiver agreement must be signed by a parent or guardian and handed to the teacher in charge before session begins). The class session will run over the school term and at the end you will have the basic knowledge of the sword skills and meditation techniques. Practicing these will deepen your ability in both. And remember that this is for fun and relaxation.

Prior to each Sword-Play session there will be 2-3 minutes of meditation.

The do’s and don’ts of Sword-Play; Principals of the game.

1. Basic Sword Strikes and blocks and the Lite Sword™ Principles.
2. No striking anyone without a sword in their hand.
3. No striking anyone who has their back facing you.
4. No striking above the shoulders.
5. Remember that this is a game for fun; fitness and balance.
6. No striking the ground with the swords.

The Second half of the class session will be incorporated during the last 4 weeks of the school term; this is to ensure safety and responsibility for every student. (If the students take on this responsibility earlier then the 2nd part of the session will be implemented as early as possible).

1. How to score points - First person to 5 wins-: 1 point for a strike to any of the limbs. ie. A strike to the arm or the leg will give you 1 point and a strike to the body will give you 2 points.

2. While the game is under way each person/child will be encouraged keep themselves in check. ie. Anger; frustrations. This can help them to be able to verbally communicate their feelings and in turn deal with them in a more compassionate way.

3. After the 25-30 minutes of sword play there will be a down time Meditation; it will encourage them to ground themselves and get ready for the next class lesson in their Day.
